Sprung Footwear (SPRUNG) is a Texas-based company that has created a patented, Self-Adjusting Metallic Restraint (SAMR) system for footwear that provides continuous comfort.  The Company is launching a line of footwear under the SPRUNG™ brand name that is intended to revolutionize the footwear industry with its innovative concept of style, performance and comfort.

The Product

Since the creation of the shoelace in 1790, footwear manufacturers have searched for an alternative fastener.  Shoelaces break, Velcro wears out, zippers get stuck and buckles are a nuisance.  Fortunately, SPRUNG has the answer...and a patent on it!

SPRUNG’s footwear features the Company’s patented Self-Adjusting Metallic Restraints (SAMRs).  The SAMRs are basically springs that replace other fasteners such as shoelaces.  Besides being fashionable and available in many finishes for a fresh look, they are functional and offer increased flexibility and comfort.  Better yet, they don’t wear out, and they don’t break.  SPRUNG is the only footwear company that offers the innovative SAMR system.

SPRUNG’s Patented Technology

SPRUNG’s one-of-a-kind patented product is leading edge technology that takes the footwear industry a giant leap forward in design and functionality.  The SAMR system features metallic springs manufactured from proprietary metallic alloys tempered for durability, all weather use and maximum useful life.  Unlike traditional shoe fasteners, SPRUNG’s technology provides necessary support but also flexes in response to the motion of the foot, which reduces or eliminates discomfort and restrictive tension that is often experienced with laced shoes.  In addition, the Company’s footwear will feature proprietary cushioned insoles that will cradle the foot and enhance comfort, and fit of the shoe.

Technology Application

Although SPRUNG’s flagship product is a hiking-style casual boot, there are numerous applications of the technology.  The SAMR system can be applied to almost any type of shoe including dress, casual, athletic, etc.  Any shoe that uses a traditional restraint such as a shoelace, Velcro, straps, belts or zippers can be improved with SPRUNG’s technology.
